6: The iRobot Roomba 960

Rating: 2 out of 5

The iRobot Roomba 960

Coming in at the bottom of our list is this offering from iRobot, an exclusive brand that is also considered a “luxury brand” within the vacuum industry.

And, unfortunately, as is all too often the case with “luxury” brands, the price isn’t right, at least not for everyone, when it comes to this vacuum. The average asking price is $629, which is more than a little steep.

Obviously, this price will vary depending on where you buy your vacuum, but you can expect to pay at least that much. In fact, it’s that high price tag that ranked this vacuum, which is otherwise pretty awesome, so low on our list.

Aside from the price, there are many good things about this vacuum.

To start with, it is very good at navigating into even the tightest of spaces. Plus, it works well on a wide variety of flooring and carpeting types. It’s even quiet while it works and can be controlled via voice, home management devices, and/or a Smartphone app for your convenience.

Unfortunately, though, even with the high price, this vacuum isn’t 100% perfect. It does often get stuck in spots, which can grind your cleaning schedule to a halt. We also found that the phone app can be a bit finicky and prone to freezing. These issues wouldn’t be a huge deal, but at this high of a price point, one demands perfection.

Our overall rating, thus, is a 2 out of 5.

5: The EcoVacs Deebot M88

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

The EcoVacs Deebot M88

If you want to spend less than half the price you would with the iRobot model referenced above and still get a great vacuum for your money, the Deebot is for you.

Aside from the price, we love the fact that this vacuum can clean a variety of flooring types, a feature that can really come in handy if you have both carpet and wood and/or tile floors in your home.

You can also schedule cleanings ahead of time if you like, which is one of the main reasons to buy a robotic vacuum in the first place.

We also like the special “cliff sensors,” which keep the vacuum from falling from high heights and potentially getting damaged.

Our only qualm with this vacuum is the fact that you have to manually clean out the brushes on a regular basis, which can be a pain. The cleaning process is pretty simple though, but still, self-cleaning models tend to rank higher on our list.

Our rating is a solid 2.5 out of 3.

4: The iRobot Roomba 980

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

The iRobot Roomba 980 new

If you’re hoping to get rid of all of the issues found in the 960 version of this product, then the 980 is definitely for you.

Unfortunately, the price point hasn’t changed. In fact, with this newer model, you’ll pay even more. Most retailers charge just under $800 for this vacuum. However, in this instance, we think it’s pretty much worth the price.

This robotic vacuum, unlike so many other vacuums of its type, is actually quite stellar at picking up pet hair and any other dust and dirt that your floors or carpet may have accumulated.

This is thanks in large part to the heavy-duty rubber agitator, which works great on carpets especially.

The vacuum also features smooth, easy navigation. Plus, we just love the patented “Dirt Detect” system, which senses when areas need a special deep cleaning.

This vacuum would be perfect if it wasn’t so loud when it operates. The loudness factor makes it not the ideal choice for homes with timid pets, sleeping babies, or anyone else who may be noise sensitive.

Our rating is a 3.5 out of 5.

3: The Neato Botvac D4 Connected

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Neato botvac

Neato is not one of the better-known names in the robotic vacuum cleaner industry. However, that does not mean that one of its vacuums doesn’t deserve a place in our best robotic vacuum for pet hair models list.

In fact, we happen to really love this offering from the burgeoning brand.

Coming in at just under $500 via most retailers, this vacuum is fairly priced for the most part.

It has some great cleaning maps that make planning your home cleanings super easy and accurate. We also like the “no go” boundary lines feature, which allows you to keep your robotic vacuum out of troublesome or otherwise dangerous areas.

The vacuum works with modern technology, such as Google Assistant and Alexa. Our only real issue with the vacuum, in fact, is that it has a shorter battery life than you might prefer. You will often find yourself having to charge this vacuum at less than opportune times.

Thus, this vacuum, like the one before, ranks in at a 3.5 out of 5.

2: The Eufy Robovac 11

Rating: 4 out of 5

The Eufy Robovac 11

Just as Neato is a vacuum brand that is slowly but surely growing in popularity, the same applies to the Eufy line.

With that said, however, if you do not mind taking a chance on a lesser known brand, this vacuum comes highly recommended. Plus, you really won’t find a better vacuum for the price. Via most retailers, you will find this vacuum priced at around $250, much lower than most of the other vacuums on our list.

Don’t let the low price tag fool you into thinking this is a less than ideal vacuum, however. This vacuum is truly excellent at deep cleaning carpets, especially when it comes to pet hair.

It also tends to be very quiet, which is a feature that many people look for.

Our only issue with this vacuum is the fact that it does not perform nearly as well on hardwood or tile floors as it does on carpet. Thus, if you tend to have a home without much carpet and with a lot of hard flooring, this vacuum probably won’t work out so great for you.

Our rating is a solid 4 out of 5.

1: The Electrolux Pure I9

Rating: 5 out of 5

The Electrolux Pure I9

Picking a favorite vacuum out of all of the awesome contenders certainly wasn’t easy.

With that said, however, we really have to recommend this Electrolux offering as our number one choice. Yes, it’s more expensive than we might have liked, coming in at just under $900 via most retailers.

However, even with the high pricetag, we really think that this vacuum is worth it. It is well designed and compact, making it convenient for storage and for general usage as well.

We also like the fact that it cleans well and deep and never seems to get stuck. Plus, unlike so many other robotic vacuums we looked at, it never scuffs furniture or damages floors.

The included app is also super easy to use, a lot easier than many of the others that we checked out.

Thus, all in all, we think this vacuum deserves our highest rating of 5 out of 5, as long as you are willing to spend the money to get the quality.
